A global partner

ISIFLO AS is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Dutch industrial group Aalberts N.V. The company’s main product is fittings in brass and composite for connecting pipes in water and gas supply. ISIFLO is, after almost 60 years in the market, one of the strongest brands in Europe’s water, sewerage and gas distribution networks. All together we have 150 employees and have a consolidated turnover of approximately 425 MNOK.

Innovative product development

At Isiflo’s Head Office in Raufoss Industrial Park we have our own development department with high material expertise and access to extensive testing in laboratories. This contributes to innovative and quality oriented product development. As we develop and expand our range of composite couplings, we also develop our brass couplings. We are constantly seeing new needs and opportunities that we find exciting to explore.

We aim to make our sustainable production even more sustainable, while at the same time we want to develop products with long durability, and easy to use. We do this by, among other things, retrieving much of the production that takes place abroad, expanding premises and investing in new machines. We are equipped for a local and sustainable development of products made with strong materials and new technology.

OUR factory in RAufoss Industry Parc, Norway

Isiflo has been manufacturing couplings at Raufoss since 1967, first in brass and then we started manufacturing composite couplings in 2009. Flexi Adapter came as the first product group followed by Sprint and Flexi couplings and now also ground cranes in composite.

At Raufoss, we have 65 employees. We work with production in all stages, from idea development, prototyping, testing to finished product.

In our own development department we have high material expertise and access to extensive testing in laboratories. This contributes to innovative and quality oriented product development.

A part of norwegian industrial history

The industrial history of Raufoss started with the establishment of a match factory in 1873. It was challenging to operate the factory and it was constantly exposed to fire. After the factory burned for the third time in 1893, it was rebuilt, but the owners were demotivated for further operation. At about the same time, the Defense Commission proposed moving cartridge production from Akershus Fortress. Due to conflicts with Sweden, they wanted a safer place for further production and the old match factory at Raufoss was chosen because of its safe location on Mjøsa’s west side. Already at the end of 1896 the company had about 90 workers. As the conflict with Sweden continued until 1905, several activities were moved to Raufoss and the number of workers counted at the highest 500 people. During this time a railway was  established between Kristiania and Gjøvik, completed in 1902. The railway became an important and practical connection to the rest of the world. The end of the conflict with Sweden made the need for ammunition decrease. On the other hand, there was a new growth when the First World War broke out in 1914.The entire local community at Raufoss experienced high growth as the authorities wanted to expand into a complete ammunition factory with 3000 employees to be ready for possible mobilization. Already at the turn of the year 1917/18, about 1000 workers were working at the factory.
